Also present were the General Manager, Director of Environmental Services, Acting Economic Development Manager, Administration Assistant and the Director of Environmental Services’ Personal Assistant.

THAT the Environmental Services staff continue attending the Canowindra HACC office each Wednesday morning to provide planning, building and environmental services to the local community.

ITEM - 5    REVIEW OF PLANNING ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES

 

Recommendation (Culverson/Wilcox)

 

THAT:

1.    The current procedures for assessment and determination of development applications as adopted by Council at its meeting of 17 October 2011 be retained.

2.    It be included in the procedures that when members of the public are attending a Environmental Services & Sustainability Committee meeting they be accommodated with seating to be located at the front of the meeting room/council chambers.

ITEM - 6    COMMERCIAL RELEASE OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED CANOLA

THAT:

1.    Council adhere to its policy of not permitting the use and/or growing of any genetically modified crop within the Cabonne Local Government Area.

ITEM - 7    BUSINESS PAPER ITEMS FOR NOTING

 

Proceedings in Brief

Director of Environmental Services advised the State Government notified that the commencement date for changes regarding compliance certification for swimming pool requirements for the sale of land and residential tenancy agreements has been deferred until 29 April 2015.

Clr Wilcox suggested that the public should be made aware of the changes.

The committee participated  in an open discussion regarding the Wood smoke reduction program.

As a result of a question from Clr Culverson the Director of Environmental Services provided the committee with an update regarding the East Guyong cemetery project that Hanson quarry company are facilitating as part of their community commitment through its Part 3A planning approval for the East Guyong Quarry.
