ITEM - 4    Centenary of outbreak of WW1

 

Proceedings in Brief

The Community Services Manager advised that the updating of the NSW Register of War Memorials is time consuming. Molong register is complete, and making good progress on the Cudal register.

 

 

 

 

Recommendation (Nash/Dean)

 

THAT Council Staff continue to update the NSW Register of War Memorials.

ITEM - 5    Home and Community Care Update

 

Proceedings in Brief

The Community Services Manager outlined that HACC services previously funded by NSW Government has received $40,000 in transition funding from the Australian Government’s Department of  Health and Ageing (DoHA). The Community Services Manager also advised there is only a short timeframe to implement.

 

Recommendation (Gosper/Hayes)

 

THAT Council use the additional funding from the Australian Government to update its policies and procedures and comply with new funding requirements.

ITEM - 6    Acacia Lodge Update

The Community Services Manager advised that contracts are exchanging.

THAT Council:

 

1.   Proceed with the acquisition of the property

2.   Classify the land as operational

ITEM - 7    Cabonne Community Transport Update of Service

 

Proceedings in Brief

The Mayor advised he is happy to have Wellington PCYC on board so that the Community Transport Coordinator can continue to work towards the recommencement of Youth Discos at Molong.

The Mayor also advised he has sent letters to various Government Departments and spoke to Local Police in regards to the Youth Discos in Molong.

The Mayor would also like to congratulate the Community Transport Coordinator for liaising with the Manager of PCYC in Wellington.

The Community Services Manager suggested that the organisers would need to put in place strategies to manage the mix of young people from different centres when the discos recommence.

THAT the Community Transport Coordinator continue to work towards the recommencement of Youth Discos at Molong.

Proceedings in Brief

 

Clr Dean suggested nominating Julie Middleton or nominate a Committee rather than an individual. Clr Dean believes that nominations should come from Cabonne Council.

 

The Mayor suggested nominating Robert Ellis.

 

 

MOLONG SHOW 150 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

 

Proceedings in Brief

 

The Mayor advised that in 2014 Molong Show Society will have been operating for 150 years and believes the anniversary should be acknowledged in some way.

 

The Committee suggested that the Economic Development and Tourism Manager should be consulted in regards to this and follow up.
